How do I log a moment?

  1. Open StillMatters
  2. Tap the "+ Small Moment" button
  3. Select an emoji category that matches your moment
  4. Choose a color that feels right
  5. Optionally add a brief note (max 100 characters)
  6. Tap "Save This Moment"
  7. Take 3 calming breaths (or skip if needed)

Do I need to create an account?

No! StillMatters requires zero registration. No username, no password, no email. Just download and start using it.

Does the app work offline?

Yes! StillMatters works 100% offline. You don't need internet to use any features.

Where is my data stored?

All your entries are stored locally on your device in a secure SQLite database. Nothing is sent to the cloud or our servers (we don't have servers).

Can anyone else see my entries?

No. Your entries are completely private and stored only on your device. No one can see themβ€”not us, not anyone else.

What if I lose my phone?

Your data is on your device only. If you lose your device, your entries are lost unless you:

StillMatters doesn't sync between devices because we don't use cloud storage.

Can I backup my data?

Your device's automatic backup (iCloud for iOS, Google Backup for Android) may include StillMatters data. This is controlled in your device settings, not by our app.

How do I delete all my entries?

  1. Open the app
  2. Go to "History" screen
  3. Tap the trash icon (πŸ—‘) in the top right
  4. Confirm deletion
  5. All entries are instantly deleted

Note: This action cannot be undone. We cannot recover your data because we never had access to it.

What are the emoji categories?

Can I edit or delete a single entry?

Currently, StillMatters doesn't support editing or deleting individual entries. This is intentionalβ€”it encourages acceptance and reduces perfectionism. You can only delete all entries using the Emergency Erase feature.

Can I skip the breathing exercise?

Yes! There's a "Skip" button in the top right corner of the breathing screen. While we encourage taking those 3 breaths, we understand sometimes you need to move on quickly.

How is the weekly summary calculated?

The weekly summary counts all entries from the last 7 days (rolling week, not calendar week). It shows:

The app won't open / crashes on startup

Try these steps:

  1. Force close the app completely
  2. Restart your device
  3. Open the app again
  4. If still having issues, try uninstalling and reinstalling (note: this will delete all your entries)

My entries disappeared

This should not happen. Possible causes:
